Their version of “The Who’s” “My Generation” hides a wickedly serious message behind its lampoonery as it highlights the plight of millions of forgotten pensioners who live much of their time alone and forgotten. The Zimmers are absolute proof, were it needed, that even the elderly have vitality essential to modern society and have much more to offer than given credit for. These forty or so individuals were gathered together as part of a BBC documentary that endeavoured to highlight the plight of this lost and lonely generation as they explored the lack of care or contact in rest homes, high rise flats and the community in general. One lady, forced to spend her retirement in a care home had been there over two months before the reporter helped her venture just across the road to her favourite shop and sadly missed friends. She did not know how to get out of the home to walk those few yards. Now as “Pop Stars” these greys with grunge are set to have a new lease of life through their adventure at Abbey Road Studios. How fantastic is that – check out video… you will love it!
Welcome to our new News Page which has replaced the Forum, sadly removed for now due to the continual abuse it suffered from the Drug and Porn Peddlers constantly posting offensive links. What a sad bunch of opportunists they are. Anyway, we hope you will consider the News Page as an interesting alternative and invite you to contribute with articles for consideration. As always – we aim to please so let us know what you would like to see or read about. We’ll be happy to do all we can to accommodate you.
